Camera Brands – There are so many of them to choose from.
Cameras are devices which are used for capturing images. They are capable of capturing still images commonly known as photographs or moving images commonly known as movies. Camera is word derived from the Latin word “camera obscure" which means “dark chamber". In the early times, the images were protected in which a large room was used as an imaging system. The camera Obscura was invented by Alhazen who was a Muslim scientist. Later in 1665 two English scientist Robert Boyle and Robert Hooke invented the first portable camera Obscura.
The camera works with electromagnetic spectrum. It has an enclosed hollow with an opening where light enters and a recording surface to capture the light at the other end. It is basically a very well built machine which proved excellent for preserving the past. Before cameras, people used to draw pictures and sketches but with the passage of time cameras became popular and common and people started using them.
At first there were just a few camera brands but as time passed and more people started using cameras many brands came in the market with a few gaining a lot of popularity such as Sony. They are different camera brands today. Some of the famous ones are Sony, Kodak, Canon, Olympus and many more.
The first camera which was handy and portable was invented and built by Johann Zahn in 1685. The earlier cameras were similar to the camera that Zahn built but they had sliding boxes for focusing. Before each picture a sensitized plate would have to be inserted to record the images or photographs. The famous collotype process for recording images on paper was invented by William Fox Talbot.

These photographs and movies can be transferred to computers using data cables or can be viewed on television and recorded on tapes or cds.
